Clear adhesive strips that add texture across the front of a stair tread. Each strip runs 3.9 by 24 inches, which spans most interior staircases in a single piece. The PEVA film is transparent, so the wood or tile underneath stays on show.

Polished timber and tile turn slick under socks, especially on the way down. Texture across the nose of the tread gives the foot something to catch. Because the film disappears visually, the staircase still looks the way you chose it.
Same staircase, better footing, and nobody spots the difference.

Clean each tread with a degreaser and let it dry fully, because dust is what makes a strip lift weeks later. Set the strip about 2 cm back from the front edge and press outward from the middle to push the air out. Narrower treads take a quick trim with scissors.
Press them on and take the stairs in socks again.
