Retro gaming device – a shelf of old favorites that fits in your hand

Some games just play better with real buttons. This handheld runs retro titles from arcade machines and older home and handheld systems on a 4.5-inch IPS display, powered by its own battery.

Reasons to pick this gaming device

A dual-core processor runs older games smoothly, and the menu is simple enough for kids and adults to start playing right away. It also doubles as an e-book reader and video player.

• 3000 mAh battery: about 5 to 7 hours of play on a charge.
• 4.5-inch screen: IPS at 854 x 480 pixels, with good color from most angles.
• Wide format support: runs MAME, PS1, FC, SFC and GBC formats.
• Media player: read e-books or watch videos when you are done playing.
• Phone top-up: can give your phone a small extra charge when needed.

Good for the commute, a long flight or a slow Sunday on the couch.

It weighs about 400 g, solid in the hands without dragging a bag down. It charges over USB-C, the same cable many other devices use. The housing is built for daily handling.
