A set of slim electric tapers that sit in a chandelier, a candelabra or a pair of holders on the mantel. Each one stands 28 cm tall and 2 cm across, the same proportions as a standard dinner candle. The light is warm white and moves slightly, the way a wick does in a draft.

Open flames and chandeliers are an awkward pair, especially above a dining table. These run on batteries, so the light sits where you want it without dripping onto the table or the arms of the fixture. A handheld remote turns the whole set on and off at once.
Choose the four, six or ten pack depending on how many arms you have to fill.

Sizes match the sockets on most chandeliers and candelabras, so the candles sit upright without shimming. Away from the fixture they work just as well in a window, along a stair rail or down the center of a table. Because there is no heat, you can set them near cloth napkins, greenery or paper decorations.

Fit out the chandelier and press the remote when the table is set.
