Hand casting kit - an afternoon that ends up on the shelf

With this kit you cast a three-dimensional plaster copy of two or more hands held together. Everything you need is in the box, from the molding powder to the plaster. What you end up with is an object you can stand somewhere, not another photo in a folder.

Why choose this hand casting kit?

Photos pile up, while a cast of hands holding each other sits at eye level and keeps getting noticed. Making one takes an afternoon, most of it waiting. It suits couples, families, and gifts for a birthday or an anniversary.

• Complete in one box: plaster, molding material and accessories are included.
• Three-dimensional result: fingers and knuckles show, not just an outline.
• Room for several hands: two adult hands, or an adult with a child.
• Straightforward method: mix, submerge, let it set, lift it out.
• Keeps well: cured plaster holds its shape and color for years.

An afternoon of work for something still standing there in ten years.

Work on a table with an old cloth under it and lay everything out before you start mixing, because it moves quickly after that. Keep the hands as still as possible while it sets, since small movements show up later. Let the cast dry another day after you lift it out before sanding or painting.
