The shell is glass with a crackled surface, so the light inside breaks into small points rather than one flat glare. A panel on top charges through the day and a sensor switches the lamp on as the light fades. Four diameters are available, from 10 to 20 cm.

It sits flat on a step or a table, or clips onto the supplied ground stake for a border. The warm white tone stays close to candlelight rather than the blue of most outdoor fixtures. There is a manual switch as well, for nights when you want it off.
Nothing is wired, so it can move as the garden changes.

The orbs work best in groups of two or three at different heights, on a step, in a border, and on a table. Set the panel where the sun reaches it for a few hours; under dense planting the evening ends early. Glass wipes clean with a damp cloth, which is worth doing after a dusty stretch.

Set one in the border and wait for the light to drop.
