Bluetooth CD player – a flat, light player built around current connections

Round, flat and only 280 grams, this player looks back to the disc era while charging like a phone. Send the sound to wireless headphones, or plug in a cable when you prefer. It comes in white, black, pink and green.

What makes this CD player worth it

It does not force a choice between wired and wireless. Both are there, along with support for burned discs and MP3 CDs.

• Dual output: Bluetooth 5.3 or a 3.5 mm jack, depending on the moment
• Burned discs welcome: CD-R, CD-RW and MP3 CDs play alongside store-bought albums
• Phone-style charging: a USB-C port instead of a proprietary adapter
• Simple buttons: play, skip and repeat without hunting through menus
• Four colors: white, black, pink or green

The mixtape CD from years ago finally gets another spin.

The light housing sits easily on a desk, a nightstand or the passenger seat. Use it with a pair of Bluetooth earbuds on a train, or wire it to a bookshelf speaker at home. Old MP3 discs can hold hours of music on a single CD.
